My household has had a busy couple of weeks! My husband keeps saying, “All the irons got hot at the same time”.
My 20 year old son became a homeowner in his Colorado college town last week! He qualified for a FHA loan with a 3% down payment and has already leased rooms to four roommates. I drove a trailer of his bedroom furniture and other household items I was ready to part ways with last weekend to help move him in. He is a proud homeowner!
My daughter participated in US Alpine Nationals here in Sun Valley last week. It is a treat to have a major event on your home hill. Paige was 12th in GS and 13th in SG. She has decided to take a “gap” or “post grad” year before attending college and joined an elite, international ski team that bases themselves out of Italy for 10 months. We are sorting through applications for Visa’s and international living arrangements.
Meanwhile, Tom and I purchased a new home in Hailey! We are slowly packing after living in our current home for 12 years. As empty nesters you would expect us to downsize, but we have purchased a large home on acreage outside of town.
Sun Valley Round Up
The Ketchum, Sun Valley and Hailey real estate market remains tight with low inventory and high prices. Many buyers put their plans on hold last fall in anticipation of lower prices, however we have not seen a noticeable price correction in the Wood River Valley. I see buyers reluctantly moving forward despite high interest rates and low inventory. I recently helped two buyers put properties under contract.

- Average Sales Price UP 8.6% over 2022
